Seedhouse looks a talent in third outing

IF there’s a faster super-feather than Callum Seedhouse out there, I’d like to see him.
Actually, I probably wouldn’t be able to it. He’d just be a blur.
At this stage in his career, the Great Wyrley switch-hitter – and he changes stances continuously – looks something special. The 20-year-old sizzles like the sausages he makes during his day job as a butcher, if that’s not a pun too far.
On BCB’s Friday show at the WV Active hall, in Wolverhampton, Seedhouse was at his near untouchable best, bamboozling Garth Noot over four rounds. Referee Chris Dean gave him every session, 40-36. Make that every second.
Noot, a South African based in Newport, had only toughness to offer. He attempted to fight back, but hitting Seedhouse – part of Richard Carter’s booming Wolverhampton gym – is akin to capturing fog in a bottle.
Seedhouse (9st 9lbs) caught him with a hard right to the body in the first, detonated a left hook against his head in the third and bossed his opponent throughout.
By the end Noot (9st 10lbs) chose to retreat to the ropes in the hope of luring Seedhouse onto a counter. He might as well have pinned his hopes on a bolt of lightning.
Callum said: “He told me he’d come to knock me out and I thought, ‘that’s nice’.”
Of his unorthodox, quick-silver style, he added: “I just don’t like to get hit.”
On social media, Callum said: “A good performance against a strong game opponent , stuck to my boxing and kept him on the end of the jab.
“A nice little rest now and I’ll be back out at the start of next year ready for a big 2026. I’m still young and still learning the game more and more each time I box. There’s no rush for anything at the minute, but we’ll see what the new year holds.”
That was former fine amateur Seedhouse’s third win on the spin. By this time next year, I expect him to be firmly in contention for the Midlands title.
