Singh give a perfect tune-up for title fight
Callum Singh…made to fight for his win in home city
THE perfect return for Callum Singh on Sports Connexion show. Trainer Brendan Norman now wants a Midlands title, at either super-fly or bantam, for the Coventry hope.
Singh, having his first outing since losing his unbeaten record to Scottish banger Lennon Mulligan by stoppage, was made to work for his win over Jack England. Brentwood’s England managed to take a session before losing the entertaining four rounder 39-37.
Despite only one win in 17 (one draw) prior to the contest, England came for a scrap.
“The lad had a go,” Norman, top man at Bulkington gym, acknowledged. “He outweighed us and I really liked the work he gave Callum.
“Callum’s strength is when you are going for him. He (England) caught Callum with a good shot in the third which he took well.
“I was really happy with him (England). Some journeymen just don’t want to get stopped – he was prepared to give Callum the opportunity.”
Norman added: “It’s got to be a Midlands title next.”
