Griffiths-Morris set for another thriller

THEIR first fight was epic, and on October 24 Ryan Griffiths and Lewis Morris will do it again at Aldersley Leisure Village in Wolverhampton, writes PAUL WEBB.

Calls for a rematch between the Black Country rivals surfaced immediately after their  March 8 Midlands title clash almost a year-and-a-half ago. Back then, Griffiths, from Dudley, took the belt with a razor-thin 96-94 decision.

The sequel takes place on a BCB bill titled “Unfinished Business”.

Ryan has gone on to defend the belt in another fight-of-the-year contender against Jack Dillingham.

Frustrated by the decision, a motivated Morris came to national attention with a gutsy televised performance against top prospect Joe McGrail. The Walsall lad is on a roll, beating Mohammed Wako and Fernando Valdez in his last two fights.

Both men have improved since their first battle and this fight promises to be another classic.

The undercard sees Wolverhampton's freshly crowned Midlands super-featherweight champion Brandon Bethell return to the venue where he won his belt. Last June,  in front of hundreds of supporters, he took the title by outpointing Nico Ogbeide.

Highly touted Telford talent Bradley Thompson boxes for the first time this year as he closes in on his first title shot.

Six other unbeaten talents are all in action. James Griffiths, Ebonie Cotton, Mia Holland, Regan Williams and Callum Seedhouse will all be looking to keep their streaks intact, and Shifnal’s big-hitting Jacob Lloyd looks to bounce back from his first defeat.

Tickets are available now, priced at £45 for general admission and £80 for VIP, from the boxers directly or by emailing info@bcb-promotions.com.
